1. COST - A box foundation or boxspring will always cost less than a hardwood platform bed.
2. WARRANTY - All mattress manufacturers will not warranty their mattress unless it is purchased with the matching boxspring.
3. SUPPORT - You will always gain more support by putting a mattress on a box support vs. a platform surface.
4. EXISTING BED FRAME - You may already have in your possession or planning to buy a headboard and footboard bed set up that requires a boxspring.
